Virgin Islands v. Gereau, et al. – Government Misconduct – CCR Docket 1975

Five black men were convicted of the murder of eight North Americans at  a  Rockefeller -owned golf resort in the Virgin I land . After the Third Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the conviction , a petition for certiorari was filed, on the issue of jury tampering . Two jurors had reported to the  President of the Virgin  Island’s  Senate that they had been  threatened during the nine day deliberation period. This resulted in a hearing conducted by the judge who had been a witness for the prosecution during the pre-trial proceedings.

The petition for certiorari was denied  on  February  24, 1976.
