He was a great and inspiring lawyer, for whom no challenge on behalf of the disempowered was too great. I remember first hearing him lecture in Harold’s class about the 11 war powers cases he had brought — one after one of which he had lost. And thinking — this is one extraordinarily tenacious guy! And he was. The TRO argument from Yankee Stadium was one of the great moments in public interest lawyering history. We will miss him.
