The Peace and Justice Task Force presents:

Gaza Freedom March Report Back

Thursday, Feb. 11, 7 pm — Reidy Friendship Hall

The Gaza Freedom March, a non-violent political campaign to end the siege of Gaza, brought together over 1400 people from 42 countries at the end of December in Cairo, Egypt. Egyptian authorities blocked their attempt to enter Gaza to march in solidarity with the Palestinian people and provide humanitarian aid. Despite beatings and harassment by Egyptian police, the activists used their time in Cairo to bring attention to the roles of Israel, the US and Egypt in maintaining the siege of Gaza. Please join us in welcoming four of over 80 participants from New York State as they recount their profound experiences.

Rabbi Lynn Gottlieb, co-founder of Shomer Shalom Network for Jewish Nonviolence and the Community of Living Traditions at Stony Point

Michael Ratner, President of the Center for Constitutional Rights and attorney for Guantanamo detainees, reporting on his trip to the West Bank after Cairo

Felice Gelman, leader of the New York delegation to Gaza

Laurie Arbeiter, artist/activist, member of The Critical Voice, co-creator of the WE WILL NOT BE SILENT campaign and A.R.T. (Activist Response Team), a non-violent direct action collective
